please find below details of some temporary road closures with the village, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit all vehicles proceeding on the following lengths of road:

(a) The entire length of (C129) Brox Road, Ottershaw, between its junction with Murray Road and its junction with Guildford Road, Ottershaw. Traffic will be diverted via Guildford Road and Murray Road.
(b) The entire length of (B3121) Murray Road, Ottershaw, between its junction with Brox Road and its junction with Spinney Hill. Traffic will be diverted via Guildford Road, St peters Way, Chertsey Road, High Street (Addlestone), Church Road and Spinney Hill.

These works will not take place at the same time.

To facilitate this temporary road closure, traffic will also be temporarily prohibited from turning from Guildford Road into Brox Road and from Brox Road into Guildford Road, for the duration of this work.

The Order is required to enable Amey to carry out the installation of a water main on behalf of Affinity Water. This work is anticipated to commence on the 24th January 2016 between the hours of 01.00hrs and 20.00hrs and then 07.00hrs-19.00hrs (Monday-Friday), 09.00hrs-14.00hrs (Saturdays) and 09.00hrs-14.00hrs (Sundays) over six months within the 18 month Order which commences on the 24th January 2016. It is anticipated that the temporary prohibition of turn will remain in force at all times. The prohibition will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prohibiting the said vehicular movements. Access for pedestrians, residents and emergency vehicles will be maintained via the signed diversion route.

Update on the application RU.15/1285 to develop the Brox End Nursery site.

Over 420 letters of objection to this proposed development were sent to Runnymede Borough Council and next month there will be a meeting of the Planning Committee to determine whether to approve it or not. Details of this meeting and a preliminary “update” meeting for local residents are given below.

There are two important upcoming dates regarding the future of Brox End Nursery (BEN) in Brox Lane.

Thursday 3rd December 8pm – Castle pub conservatory, Brox Road.
Brox End Nursery Residents Association (BENRA) meet for an update on status of the planning application (proposing to build up to 40 units in the green field). BENRA invites anyone with an interest in the future of BEN to attend.

Wednesday 9th December 7.30pm – Civic Offices in Station Road, Addlestone.
RBC Planning Committee meets to decide the fate of Brox End Nursery. Please come to help fill the public gallery and support the councillors who will be speaking out in favour of rejecting the application as it presently stands.

Runnymede Local Plan Core Strategy and Community Infrastructure Levy update

I am writing to notify you that on 24th July 2014 Runnymede Borough Council made the decision at its Full Council meeting to withdraw its Local Plan Core Strategy under Section 22(1) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004. The decision was made at the same meeting to withdraw the Council’s Community Infrastructure Levy Draft Charging Schedule under Section 212(11) of the Planning Act 2008.

A revised timetable for the production of the Council’s new Local Plan and associated documentation will be posted on the Council’s website in due course at http://www.runnymede.gov.uk/planningpolicy.
