May 222018

The revised Local Development Scheme was approved by the full Council on Thursday 17th May 2018 for final consultation from 18th May until midnight on Friday 29th June 2018. It is expected that it will then be submitted to the Secretary of State by 31st July 2018.

This further consultation has arisen because of a substantial amount of new evidence that has now been included. This includes:

  • The final A320 Corridor studyThe Playing pitches strategy
  • The amended Strategic Sequential TestAmended Viability evidence
  • An addendum to the Council’s Green Belt Exceptional Circumstances paper
  • An addendum to the Green Belt Boundary Technical Review
  • The Outline Water Cycle StudyBorough wide air quality modelling
  • The Plan is also supported by an addendum to the Council’s Sustainability Appraisal and Equalities Impact Assessment and an updated Habitats Regulations Assessment.

Any representations that you made to the last consultation in January and February 2018 will be submitted to the Secretary of State, however you may wish to comment further on either the new evidence or something you felt you previously omitted.

Ottershaw East -The Plan now includes 200 C3 dwellings (previously 230) at Ottershaw East, as well as 2 Gypsy/Traveller sites. It still also includes The Field Nursery, allowing access to Brox Nursery and the proposed development there.

The A320 Corridor Study is of particular interest to Ottershaw Residents as the proposals concerning the rebuilding of roundabouts between Chertsey and Woking, particularly the Otter roundabout, have been received with widespread disapproval in the village. We would urge you to comment about this, as the current proposal removes the village car park which is essential for both shopping in the village and activities at the Brook Hall.Under this proposal any replacement would be too far away to be of use !
