Application was made to Surrey County Council on 20th November 2012 to register the Murray House Play Area at Palmer Crescent as a Village Green under Section 15(2) of the Commons Act 2006. The relevant documents were placed for public inspection until 22nd February 2013 and a decision is now awaited from SCC.

Runnymede Borough Council Conservative Councillors are determined to sell this site for development so it is no surprise that they have agreed to object to the Village Green application.

  1. Hi,
I just wondered if there was any update on this application. It appears to have gone quiet on the Runnymede council website and I can’t find anything on Surrey CC.

We are moving to the area in a couple of months (all things going well) and are interested in finding out what is going on locally and helping out if needed.

    Thank you,
    Mark

    • Hi Mark,

I appreciate you posted a comment in January…there isn’t much to add since the hearing on 30th June’14 at the Runnymede Centre. We now await report/recommendation to accept or reject our VG Application from William Webster the Inspector at the hearing. As soon as we hear I’ll contact you.

There is a good report in the Surrey Herald (Addlestone edition) on 3-July-14. I have a copy if you would like to read it.

Have you moved to the area yet?

      Regards, Steve.
