The proposal to sell the majority of the Open Space at Palmer Crescent, leaving only a small area for the children to play on, is to be finally decided at Runnymede Borough Council’s Corporate Management Committee Thursday 5th January at 7:30pm at the Civic Offices.
The Officers’ Recommendation is to proceed with the sale as the result of this meeting in spite of all the objections they have received.
Therefore we ask that as many residents as possible attend this Meeting to show that it is not just the residents of Palmer Crescent that object to the sale of this Open Space.
The sale is Item 7, but the order of the Agenda can be changed on the night, so it may be heard early in the proceedings, i.e. soon after 7.30 pm. RBC has removed the proposal to use part of the Hare Hill Open Space as a replacement adventure play area for older children, and have instead added a tiny second area to the small area they are retaining for a play area for the younger children.
The planning application, if the Councillors do agree to sell, will come before the Planning Committee at a later date.
